As far as I am concerned, everything we are, do, say, and don't say is for heaven's sake! That is the reason for creating this blog. I have vowed this year to be more authentic. Part of that process is being true to who I am and what I believe. I hope not to step on toes or rile anybody up, but if I do - oh, well. It's just me being me and saying my piece. I invite the rest of you to join in. Let's talk about what we believe, think, doubt, hope. Feel free to express your opinion. The only thing I ask is that you show some respect for the feelings of others. Oh, and no bad language, please - not necessary!
I certainly hope that 2010 will be a better year than the last one! I know it was just our collective comeuppance, but I think a good many folks suffered for the sins of a few! The greed of the last decade was bound to catch up to us, afterall. I could have been a better steward - I SHOULD have been a better steward. If given another shot at it, I certainly will be in the future!
That's all for now. Let me know what you think. Meanwhile remember the following:
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call
upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me
and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:11-13
I found you! Looking forward to the dialect!
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)
ReplyDelete8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord.
9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
I have great comfort in this passage of scripture. The older I get, the more I realize that I don't know as much as I thought I did. However, I DO know this - God wants what is absolutely best for me. The same goes for everyone else. God wants what is absolutely best for all of us.
I also know that God's word is true. Based upon that certain and secure knowledge, I speak to mountains and I claim His promises and use the Name of Jesus and operate in the power of the Holy Spirit and I quote scripture. Sometimes miracle happen instantaneously; sometimes they happen slowly; and sometimes, I don't see any evidence of miraculous manifestation. But my experience teaches me that more people will be delivered, healed, set free, and transformed when I continue to speak the word than if I did not. So, why not "all miracles all the time???" See Isaiah 55:8-9 above.
Nancy, your joy, your faithfulness, your generosity, and your kindness all combine to effectively share the love of Jesus with everyone you meet. You may never know your impact in so many people's lives, but everyone who knows you is blessed because our lives are so much richer because of you.
This blog is continuing evidence of your servant's heart. More people will be reached through this effort than otherwise could be, because there is a potential audience of billions here.
I look forward to being "Israel" with you here. "Struggles with God" is a great name for us. I look at this from two perpectives... struggling with God so that I might gain understanding and struggling as God's ally (with God) to advance the Kingdom.
